Happy New Year! Our new term starts 15 January and we’re seeking Tenors and basses.

Welcome to 2026.  Our first rehearsal of the new year and new term is 7.30pm on Thursday 15 January at Malahide Community School.   And we are looking for new recruits to boost our Tenor and Bass numbers.  Don’t worry you won’t be alone, we already have over 30 members in that section but we could do with a few more.  No audition necessary.  Just bring an enthusiasm for singing and a commitment to attend rehearsals.  If you’re interested you can find out more here: https://enchiriadis.ie/join-us/

Messiah For All, friday 28 November, The Lark Theatre, Balbriggan.

What a fabulous night it was! Thanks to our soloists and musicians and most of all thanks to our wonderful audience.  Your support made it an unforgettable occasion for us – especially the standing ovation! We love to come together to sing whatever the occasion but nothing beats the sheer joy of performing for an appreciative audience.  Thanks so much. We hope to see you again soon.

Soloists have arrived for tonight's Messiah

We’re nearly there!  Our soloists and musicians, Andrea Delaney (Soprano), Matt Manion (Bass), Eoin Conway (Alto), Chris Bowen (Tenor), David Leigh (Organist) and Niall O’Sullivan (Trumpet) have been busy this afternoon rehearsing for tonight’s performance.

Messiah For All - Error on Lark Flyer.

It’s come to our attention that some people have recently received promotional leaflets/flyers from The Lark Theatre on which the date of our Messiah For All performance is wrong. The leaflets say 15 April. This is an error. The correct date is 28 November 2025 at 7pm.   Tickets available from  https://thelark.ie/

Not long now till our “Messiah For All”.

The countdown to our “Messiah For All” performance at The Lark Theatre, Balbriggan on Friday 28 November has begun – tickets from https://thelark.ie/

Choir Trip To Malta - 24 - 28 0ctober 2025

We’ve just returned from a fantastic trip to Malta where we had the great privilege of being part of the 225th anniversary celebrations for the beautiful St Lawrence Church in Birgu. We sang there on Saturday and Sunday 25 & 26 October and were honoured to have our Sunday performance attended by Her Excellency, Caroline Whelan, Irish Ambassador to Malta. We also had some time to see many of the stunning sights of the islands of Malta and Gozo. Thanks to Fr John Avellino, Lawrence Ellul and all the St Lawrence team for your wonderful welcome and support.  It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and be part of your celebrations.  Now onward to the final rehearsals for our “Messiah For All” performance in The Lark Theatre, Balbriggan at 7pm on Friday 28 November.  Tickets now on sale via The Lark Theatre.  https://thelark.ie/event/messiah-for-all/

Messiah For All - Tickets now on sale!

Tickets for our 28 November Messiah Performance are now on sale via The Lark Theatre

https://thelark.ie/messiah-for-all/

Venue: Lark Theatre, Balbriggan

Time: 7pm

Tickets: €25

For anyone who has not experienced a “Messiah For All” performance here is a brief explanation.   A “Messiah For All” gives audience members who are choral singers the opportunity to bring their Scores and join in with some of the choruses.   Anybody who wants to do this should choose a “singing” ticket.  Those who wish to just sit back and enjoy listening should choose a “non singing” ticket.  All tickets are the same price and singers and non singers will be seated in separate areas of the Auditorium.   We hope to see you there whatever you choose!

New Term Starts 4 September 2025

Our new term starts Thursday 4 September .   It’s going to be a busy one with a Messiah performance, a trip to Malta and our Christmas concert to prepare for.  We’re delighted to be welcoming some new Altos, Tenors and Basses  to our ranks this term and we hope they’ll enjoy being part of our community.

Our tea and coffee break our first night back will be a fundraiser for the Irish Hospice Foundation.   Members are invited to contribute cakes, biscuits etc. and all are invited to put donations in the collection box provided.   So don’t forget to bring cash.

30th Anniversary Concert - 23 May 2025

This was a very special evening for us – especially those choir members who have been in Enchiriadis since the very beginning.   We were delighted to share some of our favourite choral pieces both old and new with an audience which included our founder Dr Marion Doherty Hayden.   Here’s a clip from the concert – us showcasing our Swahili!  The song is called “Ba Ba Yetu.”
